🧼Monday 5th January 🧼 General Personal, Strictly and Soap Blog Update & Strictly!!
Well Hello and Happy New Year!! As you can probably tell I've not been writing on here much and didn't write about the final of Strictly Come Dancing.....but the truth is sometimes I don't always know what to write and because I have no idea of anyone actually reads my blog, I lose motivation and determination. Also I'm a novice when its comes to running and writing a blog, at it and need to build up my confidence with it. I worry about it being rubbish or that people wont read it and it could be a waste of time when I really need to look for a job!! But doing this will hopefully improve my skills, confidence, well being/mental health. I'm also really hoping to work out how I can set up the ability for users and myself to be able to comment and interact more. I want to do podcasts or some kind of youtube video reels but not a clue where to start lol
Christmas has gone sadly and it was a nice quiet one as didn't have much family here. Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas!! Happy New Year and best wishes for 2026 from your Soap Queen!!! 🧼👑
Well I'm sure most people who are Strictly fans would have watched or caught up with the final. I thought the last 3 couples were all very worthy finalists!! I didn't mind who won but wanted Karen to win as i really think she has been brilliant all the way through and really worked hard to improve week after week and its amazing how she has changed Carlos in being a better man. I felt so sorry for Amber (and Louis) throughout the competition getting so much backlash about past dance, stage and west end experience. She was bought in at the last minute and Strictly often choose celebrities with some dance experience and obviously ones that don't. The trolling she and Lewis got were so uncalled for and vile to be honest and so glad she & him spoke out about it and you could see how much it affected them. I'm pleased they received so much love from the public and chose to welcome the love and support and let the trolls just crawl back under their bridge.
Right, Soap talk now lol
I've struggled to get up to date with the soaps in December but slowly I'm getting there. I would love to know how many others out there who watch a lot of the soaps but find it hard to watch them all like me?? lol
I'm glad Corrie will be going back to half an hour episodes at some point this year and that Emmerdale will be half an hour on Thursdays again and just be that length of time in general as i find the hour long ones difficult to get through. I record them and fast forward the adverts lol
Corriedale - The cross over between Coronation Street and Emmerdale where the two soaps collide is on tonight 8pm-9pm Itv1
But there is 1 half an hour episode or Emmerdale at 7.00pm and Coronation Street at 7.30pm so basically with adverts it will be 1 hour 45 minutes I'm guessing.... I'm very excited with Corriedale and really enjoyed the crossover with Hollyoaks & Brookside last year but tonight there will lots to get through and that's even if you don't include Eastenders, Hollyoaks or Home & Away lol
As much as I love Hollyoaks I'm glad it went to three 20 min episodes a week. Good job i stopped watching Neighbours when Amazon Freevee had it -it would have become even more difficult to fit that in as well. I was very sad to see Neighbours go the first time a couple of years ago as I loved it and had watched it since I was about 12 (and Home & Away too) rushing home from school to watch CBBC or CITV and then Neighbours on at 5,35pm on BBC1 and then switch over to ITV for Home & Away or if off sick or holiday from school I was lucky enough to watch the lunchtime viewings with my mum ( if she wasn't working) or at a friend's house.
Enjoy the soaps this week!!
I will hopefully start doing polls, surveys soap chat interactions, comments. I'm also hoping to start doing spoilers again -if people want me to, but if I do, I will be posting them under the sub headings of each soap name columns instead of doing normal public posts like I was doing before so if people don't want to know, then things won't be spoilt for them. I'm going to write some more on my Soapqueen.uk Facebook page so people can comment on there while I try to set the comments and interaction up on the blog!! If anyone is reading this and knows how to code, program or run blogs via the Ghost platform, let me know on my Fb page please. Thanks! https://www.facebook.com/share/17tQiK6FW8/
I shall be writing again this week and hopefully I can write some good content on my view about each soap and the storylines - fingers crossed 🤞🏻
One storyline that is brilliant but so difficult to watch is Theo's coercive control, physical, verbal, mental and emotional abuse against Todd in Coronation Street- so so powerful and the acting is just excellent. I would love to hear people's views about this storyline.
